Frequently asked questions
Q: What Is SEO?
A: SEO is short for Search Engine Optimisation. It is the act of optimising a website to be indexed by the search engines and to improve the rankings of each page within the search engine results. Both on-page and off-page optimisation is required to truly improve your rankings.
Q: What Is On-Page And What Is Off-Page Optimisation
A: On-page search engine optimisation considers over a hundred factors to ensure that the search engine spiders are able to adequately access your site, "read" its contents, and determine the topic and relevancy to individual searches. As well as keyword placement and keyword density, there are many other factors to consider.
Off-page optimisation is essential the promotion of your website through the building of a link portfolio. Links pointing to your pages are deemed to show that that page is a valuable resource on a given topic. The topic is determined by a combination of on-page factors and the anchor text that points to that site. Links from more highly regarded sites are considered more valuable than those from lower ranked or newer sites.
Q: What Is SEM
A: SEM is short for Search Engine Marketing and looks at any viable method of promoting a website through the search engines. Typically, SEM is used to refer to PPC or paid inclusion programs.
Q: What Is PPC?
A: PPC, or per-per-click, is a form of advertising most often offered by search engines. Websites create a short, two or three line ad, with a title and link to their website, and then bid on particular keywords. When a surfer uses that search engine to search for a specific keyword, ads are displayed in order of the highest bidder to the lowest bidder.
Q: Should I Use PPC Or SEO?
A: That´s the million dollar question. Some sites benefit more from SEO and others from PPC. In reality, the best approach is usually a combination of the two. SEO, while comparatively less expensive, can take weeks or months to generate large amounts of traffic. A well managed PPC campaign can instantly generate traffic that is equally as targeted as SEO traffic.
Q: I Notice You´re A London Company, Do You Offer Services To Companies Outside London?
A: Absolutely – while our main office is situated in London, we operate with clients not only from around the country but from around the world. If you need your website marketing, we offer you the same high quality service regardless of your locale.
Q: I Notice You Are Google Adwords Certified – Do You Only Concentrate On Google?
A: Not at all. Google is the preeminent force in the search engine industry. In terms of SEO they account for around half of all searches conducted online, and they also hold the lion´s share of the PPC market. They are also the only PPC program that offers certification. As soon as the other programs offer the same service, we will become certified and we will display that on the site too. However, we optimise to benefit all search engines and we will always look into PPC marketing through any available and viable channel.
